If you’ve ever started up a computer only to see a blank screen and hear the dreaded click-click-click of a failed hard drive, you know how important it is to have current, up-to-date backups of your data.

Time MachineApple’s Mac OS X 10.5 “Leopard” operating system features an application called Time Machine that makes doing backups a piece of cake. Time Machine also makes it simple to restore data if your hard drive dies or you accidentally delete a file. However, Time Machine can’t help you if it isn’t running or set up correctly!
